Trust the (Different) Process

It's important to understand that there are so many different ways to apply a makeup, yet, achieve the same end result.

If I wasnt' a makeup artist, I (like many others) would feel a huge overwhelm with the art of makeup application. But what I'd like to make clear, is that there is never just one way to create a look. I mean, I swear I apply my makeup differently every time I put brush to face! It might be a different order, a different technique, a different product... but that's ok!

If you get to your desired end result, then that alone is a win in my books. Who cares how you got there!

Some artists might use processes that I don't think are necessary, others might leave things out that I felt were. But when you see the end results of their finishes - who am I, or anyone else to question the process in the end.

Makeup should be fun, experimental and a way of expression. A tutorial or guide along the way can be beneficial to get your techniques on point, but the process can be entirely your thing. Think of it as a ritual. A therapy or mindful exercise. You'll be surprised how satisfying and enjoyable it can be when you take the pressure off of "perfection" and the belief there's only one way to achieve your look. There isn't.
